SELL OUT ON FINAL DAY OF 2013 CLIPSAL 500 ADELAIDE
The 'sold out' signs were placed at the entrance gates of the 2013 Clipsal 500 Adelaide today shortly after Race 2 of the V8 Supercars Championship had commenced.
With an attendance of 95,000 in the venue well before tonight's concert featuring super groups Kiss and Motley Crue, South Australian Motor Sport Board Chief Executive Mark Warren said he had "to hang out the full house sign".
Thursday Lunchtime Concert Announced
The hot news is that the 2013 Clipsal 500 Adelaide entertainment line-up has just received another mammoth boost with the announcement of a fourth concert to be staged on the first day of the event, Thursday 28 February.
“Fans are raving about the concerts we have already announced, but the bonus sting in the tail is that “Justice Crew” and “The Collective” will perform at lunchtime on the Thursday to complete our total “The Race That Rocks” line-up”, Clipsal 500 Adelaide Chief Executive Mark Warren said today.
Hilltop Hoods break cover on Wild Cad for 2013 Clipsal 500 Adelaide
Who better than ground breaking hip hop group Hilltop Hoods to reveal the ultimate custom car that is to feature at the 2013 Clipsal 500 Adelaide?
The Hoods – Suffa, MC Pressure, and DJ Debris – travelled to a secret location in Adelaide’s northern suburbs to unveil WILD CAD, a ’59 Cadillac that is truly the “king of customs”.
Brought back to Australia from the USA by Clipsal 500 Adelaide organisers under a veil of secrecy especially for next year’s event, WILD CAD is to be the star exhibit in the truly phenomenal ArmorAll Extreme Top 50 Car Show.

2013 Clipsal 500 Adelaide Launch – Highlights
Major announcements and initiatives revealed at the launch of the 2013 Clipsal 500 Adelaide included:
- Premier Jay Weatherill confirms that South Australia’s V8 Supercar event is secure with confirmation that the SA Government has entered into a new sanction agreement with V8 Supercars to include conducting an event up to and including the year 2021.
- Premier Weatherill announced that the 2012 Clipsal 500 Adelaide created a total spend in the South Australian economy of $55.5m with a new expenditure totalling $34.01m.
- Iconic rock bands Kiss and Motley Crue will perform at the 2013 event together with the Hilltop Hoods, The Angels, and Ian Moss.

Nissan has unveiled its first Altima V8 Supercar to the world in Melbourne in a how stopping affair.
The highly-anticipated event was streamed live on YouTube, giving fans in Australia and across the globe the chance to be some of the first to get a glimpse of the revolutionary race car.
The unveiling of the Nissan Altima was an historic moment for V8 Supercars, which has been wholly dominated by Ford Falcons and Holden Commodores for the past two decades.

GET TO THE 2013 CLIPSAL 500 ADELAIDE VIA “ROUTE 66”

PORSCHE KIDS TO BE “KINGS OF THE ROAD”
Kids and family groups are a huge part of the Clipsal 500 Adelaide and in 2013 the appeal is even greater with the Porsche Kids Driving School at the circuit as a great free entertaining and educational experience for our drivers of the future.
The main aim of the Porsche Kids Driving School is to teach young children about the theory of standard road rules, and then to give them an opportunity of putting their new found knowledge to practice on the specially designed driving track within the Clipsal 500 Adelaide precinct.
THE AFL COMES TO 2013 CLIPSAL 500 ADELAIDE
Mums and dads, if your kids are footy fans make sure they don’t miss out on the official AFL Footy Fest at the 2013 Clipsal 500 Adelaide.

Two wheeled action will match that provided by the four wheel stars at the 2013 Clipsal 500 Adelaide.
An integral part of the extensive on track entertainment package over the four day carnival will be performances by the Showtime FMX Freestyle Moto X Stunt Team and one of the country’s foremost individual motor cycle stuntmen, Matt Mingay.
The mighty Showtime FMX Freestyle Moto Stunt Team will be performing daily at various parts of the circuit in 2013, and boasts riders who have participated on world renowned tours including Nitro Circus and The Crusty Demons.

The 2013 four day Clipsal 500 Adelaide motorsport festival will be held from 28 February to 3 March.
Announcing the dates today, Clipsal 500 Adelaide Chief Executive Mark Warren said:

V8 Utes return to Clipsal 500 for 2013 Series Opener
The 2012 Auto One V8 Ute Racing Series - protected by Armor All will make a return to the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide for the 13th year in a row. 16 Fords and 16 Holden's will line the streets of Adelaide to take part in the event, which is where the series originally launched in 2001. Ford raised their batting average this year when Kris Walton took out the round; he was the second rookie to do so. David Sieders won the round on debut in 2010, and claimed the 2011 title as well. The Blue Oval have now won six Clipsal titles, compared to Holden who lead with seven. The last Holden driver to win the round at Clipsal was local driver Gary "Chuckie" Baxter who took out the round in 2009.
Australian GT, getting better with age..!
When the Australian GT Championship returns to the Clipsal 500 on the streets of Adelaide in 2013, it will mark 18 months since successful Queensland businessman Tony Quinn took on the operation of Australia’s elite sports car category, in a period that has seen stability, growth and increased corporate support.
With such classic marques as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche joined in recent seasons by Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Aston Martin and Ginetta, the series has grown to become one of the most popular in the country.
Carrera Cup returns to iconic Adelaide event
Australia. The Porsche Carrera Cup Australia championship will open its 2013 season at the ever popular Clipsal 500 Adelaide - February 28-March 03, 2013.
Porsche Carrera Cup Australia last raced at the Clipsal 500 event in 2012, with next year's Adelaide round to be the seventh occasion the all-Porsche championship will visit the 3.22 km South Australian street circuit.
Popular with the championship's drivers and teams, all involved with Carrera Cup are eager to return to what is one of Australia's greatest motor racing events.
FW1 Aussie Racing Cars announces 2013 championship opener
Aussie Racing Cars (ARC) are proud to announce that Australia's largest motorsports category will commence its 2013 championship on the streets of Adelaide at the Clipsal 500.
ARC is anticipating the 2013 event to be the biggest ever for the category, following on from the launch of ARCs all new Car of the Future on the Gold Coast last month, Australia's largest manufacturer of racing cars is pushing ahead with the production and sale of 20 brand new spec cars including an all new Holden Cruze body shape in the lead up to the Clipsal event.
Starlight named official charity
Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia is delighted to be chosen as the official charity of the Clipsal 500 Adelaide for the 2013 event.
The Adelaide round of the V8 Supercar Championship is the showcase event of the touring car series and attracts crowds of more than 260,000 throughout the four-day race program.
The 2013 event will have even greater significance and interest than normal with Nissan and Erebus Motorsport, driving AMG E Class Mercedes, joining Holden and Ford in the battle for supremacy around the famous Adelaide street circuit.
