Message from the Premier

Dear Motorsport Fan

The Clipsal 500 Adelaide V8 Supercar race is fast approaching, and it's going to be better than ever.

With great racing on the track, we're adding to the off-track action.

Aside from the fantastic after-race concerts, the track will play host to the return of the Stratco SAFM Skyshow on the night of Saturday, 13 March.

And this year we're not only providing free public transport for racegoers, but for anyone on Saturday afternoon, to get to and from the track for the fireworks spectacular.

Last year more than 270,000 people attended the four-day event and more than 20 per cent took advantage of the free public transport services.

By showing your current day's Clipsal 500 Adelaide entry tickets on the day of travel, racegoers will be eligible for unlimited bus, train and tram trips from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 March.

And on the Saturday when the Stratco SAFM Skyshow returns, there will be free travel for all members of the public from 3pm on all Adelaide Metro services until the last After Midnight services on Sunday morning.

We're also increasing services on race days, to make it easier and safer for people to get to and from the track.

You can find the details of the free public transport, and the race itself at www.adelaidemetro.com.au and www.clipsal500.com.au.

And for all the on-track action, we've got improved facilities for patrons, new race categories and special attractions.

After last year's introduction of the new temporary pit building complex and shade for grandstand patrons, our focus this year is on improvements to the general admission areas of the circuit, newly named Trackside.

General admission patrons will have an outdoor bistro style area with dining facilities together with a super-screen.

And there's lots more to see both on and off the track too, with Clipsal 500 Adelaide international ambassador Murray Walker bringing his Extreme Machines Car display featuring the new Ferrari California and 559, the latest from Lamborghini with a Murcielago SuperVeloce and Gallardo Balboni, Maserati, Tesla, and more.

Artists to be appearing at the four free after-race concerts include Hilltop Hoods, Midnight Juggernauts, Status Quo, Ian Moss, Mental as Anything, Eskimo Joe, British India, Jessica Mauboy, and Shannon Noll.

And motorsport is just part of huge calendar of events in the coming months, including:

Looking forward to seeing you trackside,

Mike Rann
